When will I receive my order?
Most orders are shipped either SAME DAY or within 1 business day of receiving payment. Once shipped, transit time via Fedex Ground is generally 1-5 business days depending on your distance from California. If your order is shipped via USPS Priority Mail, transit time is generally 1-3 business days. Orders within California will only take 1-2 business days. (Note: Transit times are only estimates and not guaranteed. Only Fedex Express shipping services have guaranteed delivery dates). If you need your order on or before a specific date, we recommend that you contact us for an upgrade to Express shipping.
How do I cancel an order I’ve placed?
It is our goal to process and ship orders as soon as possible, so you can receive your order quickly. Since most orders ship within 24 hours, we cannot guarantee that all requests for order changes will be granted. Please call us if you’d like to make changes to or cancel your order and we will try our best to accommodate you. All cancelled orders are subject to a non-refundable $10.00 refund transaction fee. Once an order has been shipped, it can no longer be cancelled.
My receiver doesn't work, what do I do?
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to fully troubleshoot all problems and contact the manufacturer and/or forum support sites for help before contacting us for an exchange. Units returned and found not to be defective will be returned at the buyer's expense and are also subject to a $20 tech fee.
Return Policy
All sales are final. No refunds will be offered, however, we will exchange products which are found to be defective from the manufacturer within 7 days of your receipt of the product.
We do not condone the use of unauthorized 3rd party software for these receivers. Loading such software on your receiver will void the manufacturer’s warranty and we will not be able to accept any exchanges for it either.
If you find that the receiver is defective, you may send it back to us for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Upon inspection, if we conclude that unauthorized 3rd party software was loaded on the receiver, or if the problem was caused due to user error, we may assess a
$20 service charge and the product will be sent back to you at your expense.
A receiver is considered defective if and only if it does not function properly with the original manufacturer’s firmware.
What is Free-To-Air?
Free-to-air channels are those channels that are transmitted without encryption, so that any FTA receiver can display them on your television to watch. Most FTA channels are digitally compressed with the MPEG-2/DVB standard, so modern FTA receivers are able to decode that standard.
What equipment is necessary to receive FTA?
A FTA receiver, a dish of sufficient size, a Low-Noise Block Filter (LNBF), and the cables to connect them are needed in order to receive FTA. For most FTA channels (those using Ku-band), a 30-inch dish is necessary. Only a few FTA channels are available using smaller, 18-inch dishes. There are even more channels available with a C-band (6-foot) dish, but we will not go over them here.
What types of channels are available with FTA?
A wide variety of channels are available, including broadcast channels, public interest channels, and foreign language programming. New channels come and go all the time.
Are regular pay-TV channels available?
No. Scrambled or encrypted channels, such as almost all DirecTV, Dish Network, and Bell ExpressVu channels, cannot be viewed with a standard, legal FTA receiver.
Who pays for FTA channels?
The broadcasters pay for the FTA channels. Some are using the satellite to send their signal to cable companies. Some foreign countries subsidize television for their citizens living in North America. You can't count on anything in particular being there, but you can always count on something being there.
OK, I bought this equipment, Now How Do I Set It Up?
If you are not familiar with setting up your dish, you will need to contact an installer to do it for you. While we do not provide these services, finding a dish installer locally is usually easy, depending on your location. You can visit local service classifieds such as www.Craigslist.org, or even look in your telephone book or local newspaper for dish installers. Look for Free To Air Dish installers, not Dish Network or DirecTV. Installers usually charge anywhere from $75-$150 a room.
Note: Please do not purchase any equipment without the knowledge required to setup or without knowing someone that can assist you. We do not provide setup instructions or help. We are a Retail and Wholesale fulfillment company and we do not offer technical help. Please do not ask us for tech help!
Can these boxes be flashed to receive non FTA channels?
We DO NOT Support any type of flash that is not authorized by the Manufacturers. Furthermore, flashing the receiver may result in your manufacturer's warranty being void.
What is the DiSEqC Switch used for?
The DiSEqC switch enables you to connect as many as 4 satellite feeds to your FTA Receiver. It automatically assigns a different voltage to each feed so you can view channels or change channels between satellites WITHOUT manually switching cables or flipping switches.
